WORKHORSE W-22 PERFORMANCE & HANDLING

The Workhorse W-20-/22 chassis is just what they named it. A Real "Workhorse." The 8.1L / 496 cu in GM Vortec engine coupled to the Allison 5 speed transmission installed into a well built heavy-duty chassis w/large brakes, axles, tires and wheels. In normal conditions this chassis does a pretty good job. But if your motorhome is fully loaded and is towing a car or heavy SUV or boat and you drive in hilly country and windy roads, you might crave MORE POWER and a better feel in the handling department.

In the More Power department we recommend installing the Banks Power PacTM. The 340 horsepower and 455 ft-lb of torque that is advertised is reduced in the power train and intake and exhaust restrictions actually limiting the actual power to the rear wheels to 245hp and 360 ft-lbs torque. Banks Engineering, a long time, well known manufacturer of quality performance products for the RV industry, engineered and developed the Power Pac around improving engine breathing by reducing air intake and exhaust restrictions. The results of installing the Banks power pac is Awesome Hill Climbing and pulling power, better acceleration and a bonus is better mileage and cooler running engine and exhaust temps. This gives the Workhorse chassis Big Diesel Power at a fraction of the cost.

Better Handling

ERIC'S RV, seeing the need for improvements in handling for the WORKHORSE W-22 chassis, has developed a "W–22 PREMIUM HANDLING PACKAGE." each part of the package serves a purpose to help improve chassis handling.

DAVIS TRAC BAR—Attaching to the front axle and frame, it improves steering, reduces wander and rut tracking. It will also prevent steering axle and steering wheel shimmy, a problem that can happen on dropped solid axle chassis.

"BILSTEIN HIGH PRESSURE GAS SHOCKS"or "KONI SHOCKS," is a dramatic improvement over the OEM shocks. The difference is the BILSTEIN Shocks are less expensive than the KONI Shocks. The KONI SHOCKS are a little heavier duty and have 3-WAY adjustment allowing for more tuning in ride and handling quality.

"KONI STEERING DAMPENER,"—Reduces "BUMP STEER" and dampens steering wheel vibrations and reduces wandering. The KONI Dampener unlike other steering stabilizers, dampens steering in any postion. Other brands are spring loaded and are adjusted for straight line steering, fighting the driver and RV while in a steering corrected position, like when driving in a cross wind or on a crowned road.

The above products will turn the already good Workhorse chassis into a Really Good, fun to drive rv.. actually out performing and driving many, much more expensive diesel chassis out there.
